Matt is a founding member of IME, a media and entertainment firm creating future-ready law in the film, television, video game, and interactive and immersive media industries.
In film, Matt has served as counsel to financiers for major motion pictures with budgets totaling more than $400 million, and as counsel to producers and studio executives who are responsible for more than $5 billion in global box office.
In the interactive media industry, Matt represents some of the most prolific video game developers in the industry whose games have set 8 Guinness World Records for sales, and grossed more than $16 billion worldwide. Matt also negotiated the first YouTube to Netflix series deal, and represents multiple top YouTube and social media influencers and digital talent.
Matt and his team represent numerous leaders in the immersive media space, including one of the few VR-designated, U.S.-based venture capital funds, as well as internationally-recognized and critically-acclaimed VR filmmakers, content creators, software developers, producers and directors. Matt has represented these clients in their negotiations with Oculus, HTC, Samsung, Microsoft, Hulu, Within, and others.
By leveraging their deep experience in film, television, SVOD, AVOD, and the console and mobile game industries, Matt and his team have developed hybrid monetization models for VR that benefit content creators and developers and create a viable and sustainable ecosystem.
Matt has spoken extensively on the subject of VR IP protection, distribution, and monetization at festivals and conferences in the U.S. and abroad, including Sundance Film Festival, VRLA, VR Show-London, and at PGA member events.
